Mindful Living Network

About Mindful Living

Mindful Living® connects you with the present moment and can help you create a clearer understanding of how thoughts and emotions can impact your health, relationships and quality of life. Mindful Living® is grounded in science, rooted in spirituality and independent of religious, spiritual, or cultural beliefs.

The mission of Mindful Living Network® is to gather people into a global community to share information, experiences and to support each other in all aspects of sustainability and Mindful Living®. Our goal is to provide rich, original content through multiple platforms, mindful columnists and a mindful community, online and local.

For over 30 years, Mindful Living® has been the subject of hundreds of research studies. Research has shown that Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction — achieved through Mindful Living® — is an effective intervention for a wide area of common mental and physical health problems. These health problems include: stress, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, coping with cancer, gastrointestinal disease, obesity, attention deficit disorder, heart disease an addictions. These studies also demonstrate the continued growth of scientific interest in mindful living in the fields of medicine, psychology, social work, and business.

Mindful Living® is becoming aware that every thought, word, emotion and action you experience has a consequence–a ripple effect–within yourself, your relationships, your community and your environment. Previously, our challenges were local. Now, they are both local and global. When we change ourselves, we change the world. Compassion, kindness and reverent respect for all living things are all core tenants of Mindful Living®.

Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul should when we look the other way. – Martin Luther King, Jr.
