Create Your Own Autumn Altar
October 6, 2017
The fall is a season of change, with the brisk breeze across your face and the sound of the dry leaves whispering in the wind. It’s also a time for reconnecting with your spirituality by reconnecting with nature. Fortunately, you can do both by creating an autumn altar.
Fall is a time of transition, and the trees show you it is time to shed all things that are heavy and do not bring you life. It is the season to find a place in nature that will nourish you. Spending time outside this fall will help you release the weights that are holding you back from your true calling. For the next few weeks connect with nature by creating your own special autumn altar where you can read, meditate, or listen to nature.
3 Mindful Ideas for Creating Your Own Fall Altar
- Water. The sound of running water can be very therapeutic and relaxing. So this fall why not use this natural healing power as your own autumn altar. Consider discovering a place by a creek or a river to reflect. If you love photography, consider taking pictures and hanging them in your home or office to help you relax and recharge later.
- Trees. The changing colors of the leaves make sitting or walking around trees a perfect place for connecting with your inner spirit. Consider sitting under tree, like a great oak, and reflecting. Consider planning a hiking trip with your friends or going through a nearby nature trail. Or try walking through an apple orchard where you can pick your own fruit to enjoy later.
- Your garden. You don’t have to leave your home to find your own personal sanctuary. In your garden, you can grow fall fruits and vegetables like asparagus in order to connect with nature. Or consider putting a bench or chair in your garden so you can sit and reflect.
Bonus. Autumn is a powerful time of year to clear out the “stuff” in your life that may be holding you back. Don’t forget to take a notepad with you for the inspirations and revelations that will surely inspire and direct you to your more meaningful mindful life.Tags: autumn, autumn altar, fall activities, mindfulness, nature, stress relief
